Tracking Your Articles

When you are spending time writing articles and posting them to article sites the worst thing you can do is not to track your articles.

So what do I mean by that?

In a nutshell, you need to know what articles are driving traffic to your web site or your product or landing page. It is no use turning out article after article if the articles are not doing their job correctly.

Use Google Analytics or Going Up to monitor where your traffic is coming from. You will then be in a position to work back and analyze not only which article gets the best results but also alter future articles to recreate the same sort of style that you used in your more productive articles.

You will also be in a good position to find out which article sites are best for your articles. If you find that Go Articles is performing better for you than ezinearticles.com, you can then make sure you post more articles on Go Articles.

I am sure you can see that by tracking what articles are getting the most traffic for you will make it easy for you to really maximise your traffic generation.

This also works for using articles in affiliate marketing. By tracking the types of articles that bring you more customers to your landing page should hopefully increase actual sales for you. You can even work out how many articles on average it takes for you to make a sale for a certain product.

Tracking your articles is very important and so easy to do, but there are so many marketers just not doing this simple step. Do not become one of those marketers, track your articles.

I agree with one thing said in this article and that is tracking your articles. It is very essential to know where your traffic is coming from so you’ll be able to target those sites more often. What I dont agree with, or maybe you can say dont quite understand is one fact. You are saying that one should focus on writing articles that will drive traffic for your site which is normal but my worry is, if you start writing same articles (same subjects, style etc) it’ll make your site become boring and dull after a while. Diversity is the key. Of course they should all be close to the niche of your site but different articles bring different people. Am i not right?

As silly as it may seem, I’m the one of those marketers. To be frank, I never thought it should be that important to track them. I’m writing what I feel and know but never wondered which of my articles bring me more traffic. Reading your post made me realise i still have so much to learn. A long way to go.
Thank you very much for making it more clear.

First of all, thank you for this article.
One of the most important things that you can do online is to track your articles, especially if you are sending them to more than a few different directories. Unless you do the testing, you won’t know which of those directories brings traffic to your site and you also won’t know where you are being most effective.

It’s a great idea to track your articles to analyze what’s working and what’s not. Figuring out where you’re getting the biggest bang for your buck helps you maximize your results and minimize your investments. The real benefit to doing this type of tracking of your articles is that you will probably discover that your market responds to totally different types of content then you thought they wanted information on. many people overlook this fact and forget to analyze this important thing as well. What I use to track my articles is Google Analytics. It’s such a great tool that will make your life so much easier.

When you are writing and submitting articles to article sites or directories, it will not affect the quality of your site. Your site will only become boring if you are writing similar articles and then posting those articles on to your site. As long as you keep each post on your site relevant to the niche you are in your site will remain interesting to those that visit it.
