Learning Article Marketing
One of the first things that you need to do when you are learning article marketing is research how other authors of articles are writing their articles. You can easily do this by going to www.ezinearticles.com and reading what other article writers are writing.
You need to look at their writing style as well as they way the layout their articles. When writing an article you want to attempt to get some of your own personality into your articles.
Look for articles that are getting hundreds or possibly thousands of views in a short space of time. These will be the authors that are not only giving good content but who are possibly getting the most traffic from their articles.
Paragraphs
Your paragraphs need to be no more than 3 or 4 sentences of even shorter. It is a well documented fact that people are more likely to read an article that has short paragraphs that are separated by a space, rather than a complete block of text.
Word Count
An article needs to be about 350 – 500 words with 500 being around the maximum amount of words. You need to be careful though as there are one or 2 articles sites that will only take articles over 500 words in length, but most will accept articles that have over 250 words.
Sub Headings.
Use sub headings in your article to break the article up into smaller chunks of text. You can even use numbers such as numbering 5 tips you are shearing with your reader in your article.
Titles
Your article title needs to be eye catching and draw your reader to read your article. Titles containing numbers are popular so you would have something like
“5 tips for geting more sales” or “3 reasons why are not making sales”
Your title needs to contain your main keyword for your article and the same keyword needs to be in the the first sentence if possible or the second at least.
Keyword Density
Keyword density is basically the number of times your keyword appears in your article. Keyword density in your article will depend if you are posting to ezinearticles as you are only permitted to a keyword density of up to 2%.
When posting to other articles sites you need to keep a balance between making sure you have effective keyword density and not over using keywords and detracting from the content of your article and spoiling it.
Content
The content of your article needs to be relevant and informative if you want to get your article read by thousands of people. Having good content may even see your article appearing on other peoples blogs that will help you get even more traffic to your site.
Effective Articles
Most people go to a lot of effort and time to create effective articles that are full of great content which is crucial to making sure your article is read by as many people as possible.
All this effort is wasted though unless you get the first step right. Failing to get the first step correct means that there is a good chance that your article will not get many people reading it.
The more people that read your article the more traffic you will get to your site. We all know that the more people you get to your site the more money you can make by making sales. Writing effective articles is ther fore what you should be aiming for.
So what is this first step that is so crucial?

Creating an Article
The first step in any article you create is to think about what you are going to write about. Obviously it is going to be relevant to the topic or niche your website is about.
You will hear many people complain that they do not know how to start an article or they do not know what to write. One mistake that I see often is that when someone is struggling to write an article is that they start at the beginning. This is the worst place to start if you are struggling with what to write about.
The easiest way to write an article is to write down 5 major points regarding your topic so lets say we are going to write an article on eating a well balanced diet.
So we need to think of 5 major points to following a good diet,
1 You get a good balance of your daily vitamins
2 You will probably lose weight after ditching the junk food
3 You will feel better about yourself
4 It is much healthier for yourself
5 Less risk of illness such as heart conditions and and diabetes.
You then just elaborate on each of those 5 points and you will only need to write 5 or 6 sentences about each major point to find you have written in excess of 150 – 200 words.
Step 2 is you write the introduction, which you are basically telling the reader what your article is about. In this case you would be describing that you are going to present reasons why following a healthy diet is good for you.
Step 3 you write the conclusion, which is where you explain what you have written about in your article.
I know this seems a very easy blueprint to follow but when done correctly it can be very effective.
