Keywords

Keyword research is the most important thing  you need to do every time you write an article. Keyword research is not complicated or hard to do, the only problem is that it can be time consuming, but it can make all the difference to your articles.

Carrying out correct keyword research can mean that your article can easily appear on the front page of Google for your keyword phrase.

So how do you go about keyword research? well I am going to break this down into very easy to follow steps.

1) First you need to think about what your article is going to be about and then choose a keyword phrase for the title

2) To help you find keywords you can use the Google adwords keyword tool which is free to use. Before you use the tool you will need to type in the security code that pops up on your screen.

3) Think of a keyword phrase and just type the keyword phrase in to the “word or phrase box” and click on search. The tool will then pull up a list of potential keywords associated with the phrase you typed in.

4) You then need to choose a selection of keywords from the list, that are getting from 800 to 10,000 views  per month.

5) Once you have a list of keywords you then need to enter each keyword that you have into google sear, but you must put quotes at the beginning and the end of the phrase. So for instance if you was entering the phrase, learning article marketing, you would type it into the google search as “learning article marketing” and press enter.

6) Once you have done that directly under the search box you typed your phrase in to,  it will give you the number of results for that phrase. For the key phrase “learning Internet marketing” the number is 6,860. This refers to the number of competing sites for that keyword phrase.

This may seem a large number but it is very low, in fact if you can find a keyword phrase that returns less than 20,000 results it is going to be easy to get on to page one of Google.

At the time of writing this, the keyword phrase is showing that 2 of the listings on the front page of google are for article sites. So if I write an article using that title there is going to be a very high chance of getting on the front page of google.

This means for me that anyone searching the term “learning article marketing” they could easily find their way to my article and ultimately to my site.

As I said at the start keyword research is not hard or complicated but it can take some time and work. As you find good keywords my advice is to enter then on a spread sheet as there are other ways to use keywords for SEO purposes.

I would recommend writing at least 30 articles and then see how your site or sales page is responding. You do not have to write 30 articles in one go. You could write 5 per day and post 3 on ezinearticles and 2 on Go articles.
The quicker you write the articles the quicker your results will be
